— four canopy layers, some forty-six species in a plot smaller than half a hectare.

— a fishing village that stopped fishing in 1995 and enforced the boundary itself.

Chesed · technology becomes quiet Exmouth, Devon, England
— a small data centre installed at a public leisure centre as a “digital
boiler.” Its waste heat warms the swimming pool, given free, cutting the pool’s
gas use by around sixty per cent.
Binah · ecology is the architecture Eastgate Centre, Harare, Zimbabwe
— nine storeys, 55,000 m², no conventional air conditioning since 1996. Night
cold stored in masonry, warm air drawn out through forty-eight chimneys. Its architect
was inspired by termite mounds; the biology has since been revised, and the building
still works.

One more, held apart. In 2018 a sealed data centre was lowered to the
seabed off Orkney. Two years later it was raised: six failures out of eight hundred and
fifty-five servers, an eighth of the rate on land. The programme was then closed, its
attention moved elsewhere. It was never a question of whether such things work.
